For 1000 years, from the top of a slight elevation, the “Monticello”, La Costigliola has been guarding a peaceful rural landscape, now protected by the Colli Euganei Park.
Situated near Padua, not far from the thermal springs of Abano and close to Praglia Abbey it is now an organic farm, dedicated to projects of sustainable development.
It was thought and is managed by Banca Etica.

The Estate
La Costigliola farm and farm accommodation is managed along ecological and sustainable principles. 15 ha of the land are farmed as vineyards, crops and vegetable gardens, while 10 ha remain woodland and forest.

The restaurant uses organically grown foods. La Costigliola was set up as a place to discuss and design projects in the fields of organic farming, renewable energies, and generally, of sustainable development, in order to create a network of Italian and European experts.

The oldest parts of the manor date back to the year 1000. Various additions were made in the course of time until its present aspect was reached in the middle of the 19th century, after the construction of the big haystore, the so-called “tesa”. The whole of La Costigliola is contained in the Colli Euganei Regional Park, which has helped to preserve the local diversity of species.

The Manor itself is divided into two areas: one houses the café and restaurant, offices and halls for assemblies, meetings, seminars and celebrations; the second area is dedicated to accommodation; a panoramic terrace gives access to the 10 en-suite bedrooms and to the independent kitchen and living room, the true heart of the guesthouse.
Accommodation

La Costigliola provides accommodation for a total of 20 guests. There are 10 bedrooms in various sizes (3 single, 5 twin-bedded, 1 triple and one four-bedded), each with an en-suite bathroom and shower, wardrobe and desk.
Each room is named after an animal living in the regional park (e.g. “Swallow”) and there is a selection of books on topics related to the location.
The Independent Kitchen and Living Room
A separate access leads to a fully equipped independent kitchen with living room for those guests who prefer self-catering and privacy.

Restaurant and Catering
The big building houses a kitchen, a dining hall, a café and two big halls for meetings, lectures or celebrations.
On request, the restaurant provides lunches and dinners, also vegetarian, based as far as possible on locally produced organic foods. There is a bar service as well.

 The Meeting Halls
There are two big halls, each holding up to 150 people. The Lower Hall used to be the stables, whereas the Upper Hall was the haystore, the so-called “tesa”. Both feature audio and video equipment, internet access/wi-fi is possible on demand.
